Care Support Worker

Salary £9 per hour (Walsall)

This is a great opportunity to work for an established Care Service provider. This role would suit someone who is flexible, has a caring nature and enjoys supporting people with disabilities in their own home. You will need to be compassionate, keen to learn and enjoy working as part of a team. There will also be the opportunity to benefit from progressive training and the opportunity to gain a Diploma in Health and Social Care.

Our client offers Care Services to adults that fall into categories of Older People, Children, Dementia, Physical Disability, Sensory Impairment and Learning Difficulties.

Areas include: Darlaston, Willenhall, Walsall, Bloxwich, Brownhills, Cannock, Pye Green, Hednesford, Chadsmoor, Penkridge.

Essential requirements:

  • Previous experience working in Domiciliary Care is preferred, but not essential
  • Driver, with access to your own vehicle – preferably, however walkers in locations of interest with great availability are able to apply
  • Ability to understand oral and written communication
  • Willingness to train towards an NVQ/QCF (Diploma) in Care Level 2
  • Flexible, helpful, cheerful, outgoing personality
  • Have a genuine interest in the care and welfare of others
  • Able to handle difficult situations
  • Team player and able to work on your own initiative at times

This role will involve providing a care service to clients to enable them to lead an independent a lifestyle as possible within their own homes. Duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Personal Care – dressing, washing, toileting etc
  • Healthcare – assisting with any prescribed medication
  • Dietary Care – preparation of snacks/meals. Assisting with feeding.
  • Domestic/Household Services – general cleaning duties, food shopping, light gardening tasks
  • Personal Services – assisting with personal finance, paying bills etc
  • Companionship – having friendly conversations with each service user

 

Salary: up to £9.00 per hour, depending on age and experience.

Hours of work: A typical shift will look something like: 6.00am – 3.00pm (morning and lunch time calls) and 3.00pm – 11.00pm (teatime and bedtime calls). You will also be required to work every alternative weekend.
