Care Worker

Salary £12 per hour (Birmingham)

Are you naturally caring, reliable and friendly? Great opportunities now available to join a friendly team who really do care and ensure their residents always receive respect and dignity and making them the centre of everything they do! The role is based at a residential care home in Erdington who provide homely accommodation and a range of care and support services, for elderly residents, some of whom have dementia.

The roles available: Due to refurbishment and expansion, they have; Team Leader positions and Nights Care Worker positions.

What we need from you:

  • Team Leaders: Minimum of 18 months care experience and 6 months in a Senior role. Level 3 NVQ or willing to work towards
  • Night Care Workers: Minimum of 6 months care experience. Level 2 NVQ, or willing to work towards
  • Strong communication skills; be warm, gentle, kind-hearted, caring and be a good listener
  • A desire to see elderly and vulnerable people treated with care and respect
  • Understand dementia and mental health needs
  • Be conscientious and hard-working

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Assisting with daily living tasks, caring for residents and ensuring their core care needs are met including nutritional, hydration, personal care, emotional care and wellbeing whilst maximising their independence
  • Working with the residents who have Dementia, their families, and team members to ensure all care and support and activities are carried out according to individual Care Plans
  • Documenting daily report files to ensure good governance
  • Nights staffs will need to dispense medicine
  • Working as a team player to provide care support services of the highest quality
  • Supporting residents by being a listening ear, offering moral support or simply providing company for someone who is feeling isolated
  • Team Leader additional duties, e.g., manage medication, order stock, liaise with those involved in the care of residents on a day-to-day basis such as GP’s, Responsible for Health and Safety and Fire regulations

Salary/Package: Up to £12 per hour (Depending on experience). Working Hours: Full or Part time options and overtime available within the hours of 7/8am – 8pm, 8pm to 8am. Holidays/Benefits: 25 days holiday pro rata. Pension. On site parking.
